Loving all the arguments on social media about the dance off.
I have watched both dances through again.
Toyah and Neil 12 bars of actual Jive,
Tom and Nadia 10 bars of actual Cha cha cha.
Both where off time.
Both where lacking in technique.
So equally bad and that means it is down to personal opinion as to which choreography you like or which celebrity/pro you like.
When it comes to judging it always difficult when couples are equally as good as each other.
The cha cha cha and the Jive are very different. Both fast but obviously Jive is much more energetic.
Both dances contain Chasses but the Jive chasse is there to create bounce and rhythm and in the cha cha cha to accentuate the hip action and rhythm.
Jive chasse footwork Toe, Toe, Ball flat
Ccc chasse foot work ball flat throughout if moving sideways where as traveling forward or back or on a ronda chasse for example the footwork is different.
Timing
Jive chasse 3/4, 1/4 1
Ccc chasse 1/2, 1/2. 1
The Jive is danced with knees bent
The ccc is dance on straight legs
