Week one
Here we go my view of strictly with my examination head on
Nick and Luba - Jive
Good musicality a little wooden in places but a great first dance, lots of kicks and flicks. Lots of energy.
Sam and Nakita - Slow Foxtrot
Nice presence on the floor, frame not bad for week one, a bit lumpy in places.
Sadly Nikita was leading from the right side of the body that made it too open and made him dance past her.
Shane and Nancy - Samba
To much disco not enough Samba and no Samba bounce at all. He needs to improve posture, though he did move his hips it wasn’t Samba hips but it was okay for week just not but as good as I expected better.
Toyah and Neil - Tango
She was clinging on for dear life and I think Neil did really well to keep her with him. I think she forgot most of the steps but she went out and tried which is great.
Tasha and Aljaz - Cha cha cha
Not isolation in the hips, but that was because her weight was in the wrong place, once she can use her feet and ankles it will improve, legs were great. A lot of choreography for week one and her timing for a deaf person was great.
JB and Amy - Waltz
He needs to tilt his pelvis in and soften the knees but a lovely start and great musicality.
I enjoyed it great footwork best dance so far.
Pete and Jowita - Paso Doble
It was just a collection of shapes for me afraid, with no dancing in between. His stance was not a Paso stance and the footwork no existent but you could see he was trying.
Sarah and Vito - Quickstep
Loved it fun nice frame, brilliant musicality and rhythm. Hold was good, tone and footwork great lovely light movement.
Tom and Nadia - Tango
It’s hard for a tall person to dance and especially Tango. Nice frame and good musicality but no staccato and that was down to stance.
Punam and Gorka - cha cha cha
Good footwork and nice hip action, legs need working on which would improve balance but over all great.
Paul and Karen - American Smooth
I would not want to dance AS to that tune so hard. Choreograph just full of gimmicks but thats Karen. I often feel she put too much time on silliness and doesn’t put the time into teaching the dance. But he did some lifts and let’s hope she teaches him to dance next week.
Jamie and Michelle- Viennese Waltz
Beautiful arms in solo, Good hold and frame, nice musicality and rhythm, the judges commented of footwork but the camera didn’t show his feet on TV a bit wooded in places.
Chris and Dianne - Cha cha cha
Fantastic, nice footwork and leg speed. Great choreography what an amazing man. To be able to time those lots and tricks without being able to see was great.
Montell and Jo Jo - Slow Foxtrot
Solo work great. Needs to work on head line, but frame and balance was great. Great rhythm and musicality.
Wynne and Katia - Samba
Great rhythm and musicality as expected but for a big man he light in his feet. Great technique and loved the choreography
Best dance of the night for me was
Sarah and Vito
