Week 2
Strictly with my examiners head on
Tom and Nadia - Cha cha cha
A bit lack lustre, I don’t think he is pressing into the floor enough so he not sure where his weight. Then he be able to use his feet to make his hips work. As I said last week it hard for a tall person to dance.
Punma & Gorka - slow foxtrot
Nice head and shoulder line in hold for week 2 but the body needs lifting so she is not leaning forward, this will then let her follow through to into the legs. ‘The feet do not leave the floor in foxtrot’ she needs to learn how to make the feet track rather than pick them up.
Paul and Karen - Salsa
Oh dear there was hardly any salsa in the routine and definitely no salsa rhythm. I do feel the Karen doesn’t try to teach the dance she just uses gimmicks when she thinks they can’t dance.
Wynne and Katya - Viennese waltz
Intro lovely. Hold nice, head needs to be a bit more to left but I’m being picky. Loved the choreography and of cause the musicality and Rhythm was brilliant. For a big man he is light on his feet.
JB and Amy - Cha cha Cha
This guy has presence from the start. Nice foot placement and hip action loved the ronda chasse and the breaks. His isolation is great, musicality and rhythm lovely. The routine was fantastic.
Sam and Nakita - Charleston
Synscronicity was out at the beginning and her weight was too far back so she looked off balance in places. I like tricks thou.
Chris and Dianne - Slow Foxtrot
Wow they used the floor so well and I love the choreography. To stand on the chair at the end was amazing. It was controlled and lovely footwork he needs to stretch his legs a little and track the legs more. But his timing and musicality was great and he must of worked so hard to be that good.
Jamie and Michelle - Rumba
Nice Cucaracha and Cuban action. The armology was great but I would have liked more steps in the routine. Not just walks, lunges and Cucaracha over and over again.
Toyah and Neil - Jive
A lot better than last week. She felt like she was more comfortable with this dance. There was quite bit of Jive and it was neat. Her weight was off but was in time and I liked the energy.
Nick and Luba American Smooth
Not as good as last week. It didn’t feel like a smooth but the music did not help. His hold was good considering he had a bad arm and he only had 16 hours of training.
Montreal and JoJo - Samba
Love the dress, nice Volta’s and samba walks, roll was a bit stiff and her legs a but straight in places for this dance but for week 2 a great job.
Tasha and Aljaz - Viennese waltz
Beautiful. Her frame is great, head lovely and they stayed together.
She needs to soften the knees a bit but her footwork was lovely.
Her musically was brilliant, I loved the bit at the beginning where they changed rhythm.
Shayne and Nancy - Tango
Better than last week. He held his frame well. There was a bit of rise and fall which should not of been there but it was dramatic and on time. I liked the syncopation and the choreography.
Pete and Jowita - American Smooth
His frame was quite good but she is two small for him. The solo was better than the in hold and the lifts were great. He needs to learn to track the legs but it was 50% better than last week.
Sarah and Vito - paso Doble
Her timing was brilliant and her solo spins great. The dance was very dramatic but she needs to work on her stance a bit more. I loved it but she was not quite as good as last week’s quickstep.
My favourite of the night was
